FAQ
Some Q&A
Q: How would you describe the quality of your goods?
A: Grading is handled according to your intended use and specific requirements. That way, the quality level delivered always matches what the product is meant for. We understand that different markets and applications demand different quality standards. For instance, if you are using our fish for canning or further processing, we can supply a more economical grade with slightly varied sizes, as long as the core freshness and food safety standards are met. On the other hand, if you are selling whole fish directly to retail supermarkets for consumer display, we will select premium-grade products with uniform size, bright appearance, intact skin, and firm texture. Our QC team follows a clear internal grading system based on factors such as size range, fat content, external appearance, and overall condition. Before production, we discuss your specific needs in detail and recommend the most suitable grade for your purpose. We also offer sample photos and detailed specifications for your reference before you confirm the order. During production, we strictly follow the agreed grading criteria and conduct random checks throughout the process. At the end of the day, our quality is not about being the absolute highest or the lowest, it is about delivering exactly what you require for your market. We take pride in our ability to match quality to purpose, ensuring you get the best value for your money.
Q: What types of inspection documents can you supply?
A: Three standard reports are available upon request: Oil and Fat, Weight, and Quantity. The Oil and Fat report provides detailed analysis of the fat content in the fish, which is an important indicator of flavor, texture, and nutritional value for many buyers, especially those in the canning and processing industries. The Weight report certifies the net weight of each carton and the total weight of the shipment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with your order specifications. The Quantity report confirms the exact number of cartons, pieces, or portions loaded into the container, which is essential for inventory management and customs clearance. Beyond these three standard documents, we can also supply other inspection reports upon request, such as histamine level analysis, heavy metal testing, and microbiological test results. All our reports are issued by our in-house QC department and are based on sampling conducted during production. For customers who require independent verification, we can arrange third-party inspections by accredited agencies such as SGS or Bureau Veritas at your cost. We provide all documents in English and ensure they are properly signed and stamped for official use. If your destination country has specific documentation requirements, please let us know in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate them.
Q: Do you keep regular inventory on hand?
A: Sufficient stock is typically maintained during the main fishing season. Outside of that window, particularly when fishing bans take effect, supply tightens considerably and shortages can occur. Our fishing season generally runs from certain months of the year when weather conditions are favorable and fish stocks are abundant. During this period, we process large volumes and build up significant inventory in our cold storage facilities to meet demand throughout the year. We typically have enough stock to cover regular orders for several months after the season ends. However, as the year progresses and stock levels gradually decrease, availability becomes more limited, especially towards the end of the season. Additionally, Chinese authorities impose seasonal fishing bans to protect marine resources and allow fish populations to replenish. These bans usually last for a few months during peak spawning periods, during which we cannot catch fresh fish and rely entirely on our existing inventory. During this time, certain species or sizes may become temporarily unavailable or subject to allocation. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you plan your orders in advance, particularly if you need large quantities or specific species. We are always happy to advise you on current stock levels and help you schedule your purchases to avoid any supply disruptions. Advance planning ensures you get exactly what you need, when you need it.
