Product Details-WR Frozen Pacific Mackerel

-
Omega-3 Fatty Acids:
Rich in Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA), which support heart, blood vessel, and brain health.
-
High-Quality Protein:
Contains about 20.7 grams of protein per 100g with a good amino acid profile.
-
Vitamins & Minerals:
A good source of Vitamin D, Vitamin B12 (approx. 10.6 µg per 100g), and Selenium, beneficial for bones, the nervous system, and antioxidant defense.

Advantages of Modern Quick-Freezing Technology for Pacific Mackerel
Preservation Principle
The preservation process of quick-frozen Pacific mackerel starts immediately after the fish is caught at sea-usually within 30 minutes to 1 hour, which is the "golden period" for retaining freshness. At this stage, the fish's cells are still in an active state, and the nutrients and flavor substances have not yet undergone significant oxidative degradation. The freshly caught Pacific mackerel is first cleaned, eviscerated, and sorted to remove impurities and inedible parts, then quickly sent to a professional ultra-low temperature quick-freezing warehouse for freezing at -18°C or even lower (some advanced equipment can reach -30°C to -40°C).
This ultra-low temperature rapid freezing process works by rapidly reducing the temperature of the fish's body to below the freezing point of water in a short time (generally within 2-4 hours), which drastically inhibits the reproduction of harmful microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi that cause food spoilage. At the same time, it effectively suppresses the activity of endogenous enzymes (such as protease and lipase) in the fish's body-these enzymes are the main factors leading to protein degradation and fat oxidation. By slowing down the rate of fat oxidation, protein denaturation, and flesh deterioration to the greatest extent, the technology avoids the formation of off-flavors, softening of the flesh, and loss of nutrients caused by slow freezing. Ultimately, it perfectly locks up the fish's original fresh texture, delicate and tender taste, and rich natural umami, making the frozen Pacific mackerel almost indistinguishable from the freshly caught one in terms of taste and quality.
Quality & Nutrient Comparison
When comparing quick-frozen Pacific mackerel with the ordinary so-called "fresh fish" that is commonly sold in the market, the advantages of the former in quality and nutrient retention are particularly obvious. Most of the so-called "fresh fish" on the market need to go through long-distance land transportation (which usually takes 12-48 hours) after being caught. During transportation, even if refrigeration equipment is used, the temperature cannot be stably maintained at an ultra-low level, and the fish will continue to undergo metabolic activities, resulting in continuous consumption of nutrients and loss of freshness. In addition, after arriving at the market, the fish often needs to be placed on the shelf for a long time, which further accelerates the deterioration of its quality-such as the flesh becoming soft, the umami taste fading, and even the occurrence of slight fishy odors.
In contrast, properly processed quick-frozen Pacific mackerel, after the ultra-low temperature rapid freezing process, enters a state of "suspended animation" in a short time, which basically stops all metabolic activities of the fish's body, thus maximizing the retention of core nutrients. The key nutrients contained in Pacific mackerel, including high-quality complete protein (which is easy for the human body to absorb and utilize, and can provide essential amino acids), Omega-3 unsaturated fatty acids (especially eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), which are beneficial to cardiovascular health and brain development), various vitamins (such as vitamin A, vitamin D, and B vitamins), and trace minerals (such as selenium, calcium, and phosphorus), are all well preserved without significant loss.
In terms of edible quality, the flesh of quick-frozen Pacific mackerel remains firm and elastic after thawing, with a delicate and tender taste and a strong natural umami. It does not have the dryness and roughness of the flesh caused by slow freezing, nor the off-flavors caused by long-term storage of "fresh fish". In summary, quick-frozen Pacific mackerel not only achieves superior edible quality but also retains more comprehensive and rich nutritional value, making it a more reliable and high-quality choice compared with ordinary "fresh fish".
