Light Catch Seafrozen Round Scad

Light catch (light purse seine) uses underwater lamps to attract round scad at night, then gently encircles them with a net. This method minimizes stress and damage, producing firmer, cleaner, and less fishy‑tasting fish than trawl‑caught scad.

Because the fish are harvested gently without being chased or dragged, they retain better texture, brighter eyes, intact skin, and a mild, sweet flavor. It is ideal for steaming, grilling, and high‑value foodservice dishes.

It is used for whole steamed fish, grilled or fried dishes, premium hot pot, surimi (fish balls), and as high‑grade bait for tuna longline fishing.
