Whole Round Round Scad (Decapterus maruadsi) stands as a premium wild pelagic fish, presented in its most natural and unaltered state – entirely intact, with no gutting, cleaning, or trimming of any kind. This "whole round" format reflects a commitment to preserving the fish exactly as nature intended, straight from the unpolluted open sea areas of the Western Pacific and South China Sea (FAO zones 57 and 61). By avoiding any cutting or internal cleaning, we eliminate the risk of contamination during processing and ensure that the fish retains every ounce of its natural nutritional value – from the protein-rich flesh to the oils and minerals concentrated in the viscera and bones.

Our whole round round scad undergoes rapid on‑board processing and modern flash freezing immediately after capture, typically within 1‑2 hours of the net being hauled aboard. This urgency is critical: the flash‑freezing process – using blast freezers at temperatures as low as -45°C – forms micro‑crystals that preserve the cellular integrity of the flesh, locking in the natural flavour, the subtle ocean aroma, and the firm, compact meat texture that distinguishes this species from other frozen fish. When thawed, the fish presents a full, plump body appearance with a glossy silver surface and bright, clear eyes – visual indicators of superior freshness and careful handling.
