AAA Frozen Round Scad

Known locally as Balang Fish in certain Asian regions, this small pelagic species is prized for its intense flavor and firm flesh. Sourced from clean ocean waters like the South China Sea or the Pacific Ocean, the fish are rapidly frozen-whether at sea or upon landing-to preserve both their freshness and nutritional value.

Appearance:

This fish features a slender, spindle-shaped body, with a metallic blue‑green upper side and a silvery‑white underside. A well‑defined lateral line can be seen along each flank. It is usually sold whole, and is commonly eviscerated and the gills removed.

Texture & Flavor:

As an oily fish, it has flesh that is fairly firm and flakes easily. The taste is gentle, with a hint of sweetness and a light saltiness-frequently likened to that of mackerel.
